Beautiful bride guide.

Most of us girls have been thinking of what our perfect wedding dress would be since we were little girls.

My dream was for a beautiful white sateen number, with lace bodice, lace-up back and really big puffy shoulders and a bow between the bust.

I thought that would be just perfect – thank goodness I have developed better taste and Kylie Minogue has stopped influencing fashion – but in all seriousness, this is going to be the most important, most looked at dress you will ever own.

So, we need to get it right in order for you to feel beautiful on your special day.

If you are engaged, why not prepare early for next wedding season to survive the stress and avoid the title “Bridezilla”.

The 2013 trends epitomise romance and elegance: gorgeous flowing floor-length dresses, in soft fabrics, ruffles, satin sashes (at the waist), and dainty floral details are set to beautify the aisles.

Dress silhouettes are refined and include the delicate overlaying of fabrics such as chiffon, tulle and lace.

Gowns with embellished bodices are going to be popular, using details of crystal, cubic zirconia and pearl. The modified A-line skirt also remains prominent (slim through the waist and flared at the bottom) – this is one of the most flattering styles for most women.

The crowd’s favourite – the strapless – is still current in a sweetheart shape, but the sexy yet elegant off-the-shoulder style has been brought back in a big way and the asymmetrical one shoulder is still peeping through the racks.

When thinking of buying a wedding dress or commissioning a wedding dress to be designed, first things first – the colour.

There are not a multitude of options (if you want to stick to tradition), but this is an important choice none the less: White? Off white? Cream? Or for a little something different maybe a pale colour?

The best thing to do is get some fabric samples and hold them up to your face to see which one complements your complexion.

Now for the shape. Knowing beforehand what will enhance your shape will make shopping for a bridal gown so much easier.

I have put together some guidelines to help make selecting a dress a little easier.

Rectangular: This figure appears to be the same width at the shoulder, waist and hips. Choose wedding dress styles that will make the focus of attention draw up towards your face or down towards the hem and away from the mid-section.

Choose a style that gives you the illusion that you have a waistline. Pleating or ruching are useful to create bumps where there aren’t any, or create diagonal lines through the midsection to give the illusion of curves at the waist.

My gown choice: Asymmetric, one-shouldered bodice, diagonally gathered at the waist, with A-line or bias cut skirt or maybe try a corset.

Pear: This figure type is smaller in the bust and waist areas when compared to the hips, seat and thigh areas. You want the focus of attention away from the hip/thigh area and more towards the face. The shoulders or bodice will need something to add width in this area and create balance. Choose styles that have width at the shoulders like off-the-shoulder styles, wide V necks, short sleeves, bolero jackets or shrugs. Choose empire line or a princess cut dress with minimal detail at the hip and maximum detail or embellishment on the bodice.

My gown choice: Off-the-shoulder A-line wedding gown.

Inverted triangle: The inverted triangle body type has wide shoulders and narrow hips. Balance wide shoulders by adding details at the waist or skirt to draw attention to those areas instead. Avoid necklines with wide-set straps or sleeves.

Also, avoid off-the-shoulder styles. Some one-strap dresses can be flattering but be sure the strap is in the middle of the shoulder and not on the shoulder bone edge. Go for a fuller skirt with detail at the hips. You can also pull off a strapless dress if the hipline is detailed and the skirt is full.

My gown choice: wide strapped, princess cut dress with full skirt and pleating at the hip.

Large bust: Number one rule, support “the girls” – get a great-fitting bra first. Necklines that are complimentary for large busted women are V-neck, U-shape and sweetheart necklines.

Off-the-shoulder necklines can be an asset for those who have narrow shoulders. Avoid high necklines – like the jewel and bateau necklines, because they tend to make your bust look larger. Create width below the waist to balance the upper body. Make sure the bodice section of your dress doesn’t have a lot of texture or details, which can make your bust look larger or become a focal point. Stay away from empire waist style wedding gowns as they focus attention on the bust area. Halter necklines can look great on someone who has a prominent bust but if you have heavier arms, you may not want this style because it tends to focus attention on this area. A dropped waistline may give length to your midsection.

My gown choice: crossover V neck or sweetheart with A-line skirt but not too full.

Plus size: The basic wedding dress silhouettes that work on most plus size figures are the princess wedding gown style, and the A-line. Asymmetrical front details on plus size bridal gowns work wonders for slimming the figure. It directs a person’s focal point away from your trouble areas. The empire style wedding dress is also good if you don’t have a prominent bust since this style focuses attention on the bust.

This style is good for camouflaging a thick waist and is good for the short bride who wants to appear taller. Plus size wedding gowns that are strapless are not easy to wear and are not the best style choice for most plus size brides. Remember, the shorter the lady, the thinner the hem width.

My gown choice: V neck, diagonal gathers through the midsection, in an A-line shape (not too wide at the hem).

Hourglass: Your body is symmetrical; you are the envy of all of us and lucky. You can wear every shape, providing you have the height – if not just make sure your hem is not too wide.

With the experience I have had in making wedding dresses, brides always lose extreme amounts of weight before their wedding, so it is important to not get your dress too early – or if you have to, get it snug – be sure to take the correct bra to the fittings and if ordering your dress online make sure you follow instructions and never measure yourself, get someone who knows what they are doing, as ordering online could be a disaster.

Remember, during the ceremony your back is almost as important as your front; be sure not to forget a little detail at the back so your guests can enjoy your dress from every angle and be sure to relax … breathe .. . and enjoy your special day.

Bridal shop making good on some orders.

Brides and bridesmaids who ordered dresses from Cinderella’s Bridal Salon will have a chance to claim their gowns on Thursday.

Associate Justice Brian Stern approved a plan Tuesday during a hearing at Washington County Superior Court that will allow some customers of the West Warwick shop to pick up their dresses. Cinderella’s Bridal Salon, Ltd., owned by Judith Gray of Westerly and her son, Scot Gray, also of Westerly, filed for receivership earlier this month. Unfortunately, Stern said, it appears that many dresses were partially paid for in advance, but that the store had never ordered them from the dressmaker — and the deposits are missing.

Matthew McGowan, the lawyer who was appointed as receiver for the store, said that based on information provided by Scott Gray, 23 dresses at the shop appear to have been paid for in full. McGowan said the shop would open at 11 a.m. Thursday for customers who paid in full to claim their dresses. The customers are asked to provide identification and proof of payment.

About 16 dresses at the shop were partially paid for. McGowan asked those customers to arrive at noon on Thursday to claim their dresses and to make final cash or certified check payments. Stern asked that those customers be allowed to claim their dresses Thursday but that they be given extra time to make the final payment.

Customers who might be interested in purchasing one of eight “sample dresses” are also asked to go to the store Thursday morning. McGowan said he was also working on providing customers who ordered dresses but had not paid for them with information on how to contact wholesalers of the dresses.

The number of customers who have potential claims against the store appears to be growing.

“We appear to have been given incomplete information,” McGowan said.

McGowan said he originally believed there were 40 claims by customers but he learned through recent conversations with the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office that the actual number of claims is closer to 106. McGowan said the status of dresses ordered by the other complaining customers is unclear,

McGowan said Scott Gray had been running the store most recently in place of his father, who had fallen ill. The store was closed for a period of time before the Feb. 7 receivership filing, McGowan said.

Westerly Community Credit Union is a creditor in the case, McGowan said.

McGowan said he hoped to sell the remaining unclaimed inventory, furniture and appliances in the store to other bridal shops or to conduct a going out of business sale.

Stern asked that money collected from Thursday’s transactions be segregated before being spent on the administrative costs of the receivership.

“Unfortunately it appears there may be a number of brides and bridesmaids whose dresses may not be there and there very well may not be the assets to pay back the deposits they made,” Stern said, adding later that the store appears not to have had an active bank account at the time of the receivership filing.

Skyler Hamill, an East Greenwich resident, said after the hearing that her daughter had spent $1,500 on a dress she had ordered but had yet to receive from the store. Hamill said she was hesitant to claim the dress Thursday for fear that it would not be what her daughter actually ordered. Instead, she said, she hoped McGowan would give her credit card company permission to remove the charge from her account. She said her daughter’s bridesmaids had each paid about $100 for dresses they had not received from the shop. Two paid in cash, she said.

TP: “If the older bride has a big wedding with over 200 people and she has a lot of good friends why not play it all the way? Just because she is older doesn’t mean she is any different from any other bride! Besides to a lot of brides this is actually their first wedding. Sometimes finding the right guy can take a long time. Since they are not all 5′7″ 110lb and blond, you can’t choose for them all the same dress. Choose a store, color and idea of a style and each one should choose her own right fit of that version. That’s my recommendation to all brides.”

Here Comes the Over 40 Bride: The Dress, The Reception, The Bridesmaids and Other Tips for the Special Day.

There’s a moment in the first “Sex and the City” film where Carrie meets with her Vogue editor to discuss their upcoming aging issue.

“We want you to write about 40,” says the amazing Candice Bergen who plays editor Enid.

“Who am I interviewing?” Carrie says.

“No, you are over 40..and here’s the brilliant twist. You’re the over 40 bride,” she says.

Planning a wedding when you’re older is definitely different. That’s why during the last days of National Wedding Month, I asked Tammy Polatsek, who was also solely responsible for designing Edward and Bella’s beautiful wedding for “Breaking Dawn Part 1,” for ways a happily-in-love-about-to-be-hitched Midlifer bride can make the day special.

“Love is not about age. The most important thing is that you have fun with your wedding,” Tammy says. “Older doesn’t mean more boring. Older just means wiser and more real.”

Tammy is a renowned upscale party and event planner who has designed and coordinated hundreds of events nationwide. Based in New York City, she travels the world to bring her creativity and artistry to all who demand her services.

From an intimate dinner for two to a gala affair for two thousand, Tammy produces the entire event from the floral arrangements to the hors d’oeuvres.

HOW TO PLAN THE PERFECT WEDDING OVER 40

What should you avoid as an older bride?

TP: “Definitely a puffy dress and tiara! In reality, I think tiaras should be lost around the age of five. And too-sexy songs should be avoided. It’s embarrassing when a 50-year-old is dressed in a puffy dress and running around to the lyrics by LMFAO, “Look at that body.”

Is it okay to do the traditional white wedding after 40?

TP: ”Yes, of course! A bride is a bride after all. Personally, I prefer off white or eggshell, but there are many absolutely beautiful gowns that are more chic and elegant, red carpet style in white or cream that can pass as wedding gowns.”

Any additional advice on the dress?

TP: “Try slenderizing, but if you’re more heavy set or over 60, don’t bother with these tight gowns! You can get even a stunning long skirt and a beautiful top that compliments your figure rather then not be able to breathe all night.”

Wedding season kicks off; how, where East Texas brides are saving money.

March marks the official kickoff to wedding season.

Business is starting to really pick up for many vendors in east Texas.

Villa di Felicita in Tyler says after a lull in January and February, it’s venue is about to be busy nonstop from now through the summer.

Wedding planner Deann Robertson says she already has 11 weddings booked for the year.

The average wedding today can set you back about $26,000.

But Robertson says many big city brides are coming here for their big day, because they can get a lot more bang for their buck.

“Twelve (thousand) to $15,000 you can do pretty good …they’re just realizing they can get a bigger, grander wedding,” Robertson said.

Another way brides are saving money is making things on their own, using websites like Pinterest for inspiration.

Villa di Felicita started offering several different options for brides on a budget, including package deals with local florists and DJs.

One thing brides don’t like to skimp on: the dress.

At Weddings A to Z in Tyler, owner Brenda Harden says there’s a new trend in brides getting two dresses: one for the ceremony and another shorter one for the party .

Maid to order: For brides, the Pippa Middleton effect means attendants’ style can veer from tradition.

When Mandy Case recites her vows in March 2013, her bridesmaids will stand beside her in above-the-knee yellow and blue dresses with cowboy boots.

The 26-year-old elementary school teacher has booked a renovated dairy barn in Fort Mill, S.C., for the ceremony, so the rustic attire seemed fitting. Yellow and blue are the colors of Fort Mill High School, where Case and her fiance met.

Case isn’t sure how many bridesmaids she’ll have — her guess is three or four — but she wants them to have a say in what style of dress she chooses for them to wear. “I want my bridesmaids to look and feel confident,” she said Sunday at a bridal showcase at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, N.C.

After last spring’s British royal wedding, the bridal industry was watching for a possible “Pippa Middleton effect” after Kate Middleton’s sister turned heads in a show-stopper of a gown. Website fashionista.com declared Pippa’s ivory satin-based crepe column dress with cowl neck and cap sleeves “the first bridesmaid dress that anyone ever wanted to knock off.” In response, bridal boutiques rush-ordered replica Pippa dresses.

But the replica dresses didn’t sell. What store owners learned, they say, is that brides want to set their own trends on their big day. Individualism, a strong trend in the past few seasons, seems to trump the celebrity wedding effect.

While mom or grandma might have their own ideas about what is appropriate attire for bridesmaids, brides today don’t worry much about adhering to rules.

“I joke and say ‘All the rules went out the window 10 years ago,’” says Anna Kelly, senior consultant for J Major’s bridal boutique in Charlotte, N.C. “It used to be that you asked, ‘What time is the wedding?’” and that dictated the attire. “But it just doesn’t matter anymore. People wear very simple, svelte skinny dresses in an enormous Catholic Mass, and fully beaded ball gowns on the beach.”

Oddly, a great example of the trend can be found — as you could have guessed — in a celebrity wedding. Last September the seven bridesmaids for model/actress Molly Sims donned what Sims called “cohesive yet mismatched” gowns by designer Elizabeth Kennedy in shades of tan and black. Each of the dresses was different — some with prints, some solids.

The bottom line is it’s almost anything goes when it comes to bridal party fashion. Bridesmaids are no longer limited to the floor-length jewel-toned satin gowns with matching hairdos, shoes and jewelry of yesteryear.

“Brides are taking the reins over their own weddings and are not abiding by what tradition says they should be doing,” says Carrie Goldberg, assistant fashion editor for Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. “The one rule is that every bridesmaid should be in a dress that flatters them and that they like.”

And if that means bridesmaids aren’t all in the same dress? That’s just fine, Goldberg says.

“I think the idea of everyone wearing the same dress is on its way out,” she says. “There’s more of a focus on working with a palate than working with the same color. Not every color flatters every girl in the bridal party.”

At the Bridal Boutique of North Carolina in Cary, manager Manu Gujral said the store stocked the Kate Middleton replica dress immediately after the wedding, but “nobody is even asking” for it, nor are they coming in with photos of Pippa’s gown.

Gujral says the brides she helps still most often put their bridesmaids in identical dresses, but they are often shorter dresses, with flowy fabric. “Basically, (brides) will bring in a couple of bridesmaids and see what looks good on them. … Then the bride chooses whatever she likes.”

Still, buyer Lucie Winters of A Bridal World in Raleigh, N.C., said that while there are “no major no-nos” brides need to heed when picking out attendants’ attire, there are following several hot trends.

Shorter dresses are big now for bridesmaids — “short has exploded,” she says — and more brides are letting their attendants pick out their own dress style, so long as they stay within the same designer and color scheme. Dresses with pockets are also popular.

But for all the democracy a bride may want to offer her attendants, Vicki Jeffries of the Gastonia, N.C., boutique Poffie Girls reminds us that there is still one simple rule: Bridesmaids should never outshine — or overrule — the bride.

“She is the center of attention and they are her court.”

Many brides-to-be were able to pick up their dresses Thursday from the now closed Cinderella’s Bridal Salon in West Warwick.

On Tuesday, a judge approved the release of the gowns.

“I was devastated. I didn’t know what was going on. If I was going to receive my dress or if I was going to get my money back or what the situation was going to end up being,” said Jennifer Koussa of Warwick.

“I was just kind of disappointed because it’s such a pain to go dress shopping, so I was just bummed to have to deal with it again,” said Amanda Costello of New Hampshire.

For all the stress the women have gone through over the past three weeks, walking out the door with a dress in hand was quite a relief.

“It’s just nice to see it sitting there, and it was nice that it was OK and was there, you know?” said Courtney Britt of Coventry.

“Very relieving. I can move on, continue planning the rest of my wedding like it should be without anymore hitches in the road,” Koussa said.

Not everyone was as lucky.

Rebecca Garofalo only received her veil from the bridal salon. There was no sign of her $1,500 gown.

“When I first found out I was suspicious as to whether he ordered my dress or not. Today it was confirmed that the dress was not in the shop and the money was gone,” she said.

Making of the perfect bride.

When it’s time to get married, brides go all out to make sure they look great on their big day. Cosmetic surgery is just one of the procedures undertaken to ensure she looks her best. What is surprising is the fact that men are not far behind.

The younger generation are a conscious lot, and they always want to look their best. The most common procedures amongst women are eyebrow lifting, rhinoplasty, breast enhancements, liposuction, blemish and scar removal, facial correction, tummy tucking and skin lightening, among others. Among men, procedures for weight reduction are common, but body hair removal is also fast gaining popularity, as is skin treatment.

Cosmetic expert Dr Sushil Gupta says, “The rise of cosmetic procedures is not an exception to any particular city. This happens everywhere and it increases during the wedding season. Everyone wants to look their best then.” He adds, “It can be anything from a nose job to shedding weight in specific areas to breast enhancement and reduction too. It all depends on the kind of risks they want to take.”

IT professional Amit Bhatia, who also underwent a cosmetic procedure at the insistence of his girlfriend for their wedding, is quite happy with the results. “I was obese earlier and I had lost a lot of weight. But my skin would sag. My wife motivated me to undergo a skin tightening procedure and I really felt good about it afterwards,” he says.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr Miki informs us that 60 per cent of her clients are women, and men make up the rest. “Sometimes I have 10 people getting married on the same day, though their requirements may be different,” says Miki, adding, “For men, skin lightening and acne treatment used to be common; now hair treatment has also gained ground.” People have the money and definitely know where to invest it. Dr Deepak Shetty, a cosmetic expert, is of the opinion that major surgeries are done in advance as they take time to heal, while minor ones are conducted prior to the wedding.

“Men usually opt for liposuction in the chest and abdomen. It takes a week to recover from the procedure. So, it can be done right before the wedding. The procedure is quite safe when done under expert supervision,” says Dr Shetty who thinks that an increase in awareness has triggered a rise of cosmetic procedures in the past three years.

Bollywood actress Chitrangda Singh, though, thinks that it’s all personal choice at the end of the day. She says, “It depends upon the individual. I personally prefer natural look, but people do consider cosmetic surgery as an option since it’s a quick remedy and sometimes does wonders to oneself.”

Plus get tips for finding the perfect fit when hunting for a gown.

At Goodwill’s annual Bridal Showcase on Saturday, more than 150 brides lined up at the St. Paul headquarters for a chance to score a dress for a fraction of the original price, many of them never-worn donations from bridal shops. Unlike Filene’s Basement’s famous “Running of the Brides,” the annual event was well-organized — with nearly as many volunteers as brides — and far more civilized. (See related slideshow for a few of the brides-to-be who found their dream dresses.)

Finding the perfect fit

Whether you’ve paid $100 or $10,000, most wedding gowns need some sort of tailoring.

Karen Boehne of Wedding Gown Care Specialists in New Hope has volunteered at the Goodwill Bridal Showcase for five years. She has been altering clothes for 30 years, concentrating on wedding gowns for 10, and advises brides-to-be as they try on gowns.

“Every dress is very unique, just as every bride is very unique, and deserves to be treated that way,” she said.

Here are her tips for gown shoppers:

Understand important alterations. Most gowns — new or used — need hems and sides taken in or let out.

Add a bustle. Dresses are not sold with bustles. Having a proper bustle keeps your gown from getting stepped on, torn and being used as a mop to clean up the dance floor.

Fit the bust. Gowns must fit in the bust properly. A seamstress can let out a gown on the sides and put in a corset-type back, but they usually can’t put more fabric in the front.

Buy big. It’s much easier to take a dress in than let one out.

Tailor to the rib cage. It’s not the bust that holds up a strapless gown, but the proper fit around the rib cage. Many designers sew in an elastic band — like having the back part of a bra in your gown.

Plan for fittings. Have your shoes and a sampling of undergarments for the first fitting. Plan on at least three fittings — one at the beginning, one where the gown might not be sewn together entirely and the final fitting. Vintage gown restorations or elaborate alterations might call for one or two more. Start alterations six to eight weeks before the wedding.

Widow fulfills vow with Lace Bridal Boutique.

Alyssa Farmer’s wedding portrait hangs on the wall at Lace Bridal Boutique in Brandon. Her wedding dress hangs on a dress form in her office.

Both remind her of her 18-year union and its blessings, including two children. She’s also reminded that not everyone is fortunate to have found love.

Alyssa opened Lace last August, seven months after her husband, Paul, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 43.

Part confidante, part cheerleader, part counselor, Alyssa shares the journey of brides-to-be, and when asked, shares her own journey.

The Farmers, who ran a veterinary clinic off Old Fannin Road for several years, had discussed opening a bridal boutique before Paul’s diagnosis. Alyssa, a business administration graduate of Mississippi State University, had planned weddings in college. Paul encouraged her to follow her passion.

After Paul’s death, Alyssa revisited the idea. She sold the vet clinic and mapped a blueprint.

“I think my mom deprived me of my Barbie time because I love dressing these girls up,” said Alyssa, 41, laughing.

“I think the Lord is calling me to love on brides. It was meant to be, but it’s definitely not my timing. It’s God’s timing.”

Alyssa settled on the name Lace for its personal meaning – “Love After Christ’s Example.” The boutique caters to women of all sizes for all occasions be it a wedding or a cocktail party.

Alyssa recalls having a hard time finding her own wedding dress. The puffy, Princess Diana-esque style of the time just wasn’t her.

At Lace, the search is tailored to be effortless. Even the boutique’s decor ushers a sense of calm.

“This is a special time, and finding the dress is part of that experience,” Alyssa said. “Sometimes brides look so defeated when they walk in, but when they find what they’re looking for, you can literally see the weight being lifted.”

Alyssa added: “Actually doing this … It’s just better than I expected. I think (Paul) would be extremely proud of this venture.”

Alyssa’s children, daughter Ally, 17, and son Brayden, 12, also couldn’t be prouder.

Alyssa is cherishing the days before Ally, a student at Northwest Rankin High School, goes off to college. Despite Ally’s MSU family ties, her heart’s set on the University of Alabama.

Mom approves.

“She wants to be an oncologist,” Alyssa said.

BRIDAL Q & A: March 4, 2012.

Weaver owns University Bridals and answers

>> Question: “What is the right way to word an invitation? My parents (I’m the bride) are paying for everything and my fiance’s parents are not involved.”

>> Answer: As a general rule, the names of the parents who are hosting (paying for) the wedding are listed at the top of the invitation. It is generally the parents of the bride, but in today’s world it could be all whole host of people. It is important to give credit where credit is due, if at all possible. Obviously, you may not be able to list everyone and in that case consider simply issuing the invitations from the bride and groom and publically thanking everyone at the reception.

In your case, a solution could actually be quite simple — if you want to follow basic etiquette guidelines. The traditional form calls for the printing of the brides’ parents’ names on the invitation, but not the groom’s parents. Up until much more recently, the groom’s parents were never listed. This was mainly due to the fact that the brides’ parents paid for everything — remember the days of the dowry?

According to rules of etiquette, you would not be snubbing them at all. However, be mindful of the fact that they may not see it that way. If you think they will have their feelings hurt by not being listed on the invitation, I recommend printing their names on it. It is such a quick and simple fix. It won’t even cost any extra money. It is also a smart political maneuver that will pay off in the long run.

If you are not listing their names out of spite and/or resentment, you should discuss your true feelings with your fiance now.

The two of you need to determine the real reason for your resentment of his parents, whether it is justified and what you will do to resolve it. Like it or not, you do indeed marry the family.

75 prospective brides, friends and relatives perused the services and offerings of over 30 different vendors, including Flowers Forever Floral Preservation, Bryan Madrid Photography, the Good China, My Daughter’s Cakes, and Mojuba, a woman-owned Chicago-based company selling “the ultimate wedding day emergency kits” for the bride and groom. Raffle prizes (worth from $25 to over $500) included Kate Spade earrings, an Engagement Portrait, and a$300 wedding flower Gift Certificate, donated by The Good China, Bryan Madrid Photography and Rohsler’s Nursery & Florist, respectively.

“This is my third Wedding Showcase at Ramsey Golf and Country Club,” said DeLisi, who has been planning and orga

nizing wedding and other private and corporate events since 1988. Apparently her experience – as well as the Country Club’s bucolic location – was well-received; DeLisi has already been invited to produce another event in the same location in 2013.

“Compared to a lot of bridal shows I’ve participated in, the Designer Wedding Showcase allows a more intimate venue for the bride and vendors to discuss (the bride’s) preferred options,” says Victoria DiGiulio, owner of Bliss Bridal Boutique & Special Occasion, a 2-year old bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride couture dress (and wedding accessories) boutique located in downtown Allendale.Other vendors included SuperClubs Hotels & Resorts , Incoco.com, a nail polish appliqué manufacturer, Montvale’s Courtyard by Marriott , the pastry Chefs from Nicholas Markets in North Haledon and Perfect Limo Service from Montvale.

After acquittal in bride’s Australia diving death,

Ala. man looks to resume his life.

The Alabama man who was acquitted in his bride’s diving death said he did what he thought was the best course of action when she struggled for air off Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

The Birmingham News reported that Gabe Watson said he worried for years after the 2003 death of his wife of 11 days, Tina Thomas Watson, that he should have done more to save her life.

“I just came to the realization one day that I did what I did,” he told the newspaper. “I can’t change it, so I just have to accept it and go on with my life.”

Last month, an Alabama judge acquitted the 34-year-old in Tina Thomas Watson’s death. Jefferson County Circuit Judge Tommy Nail decided prosecutors didn’t have enough evidence for jurors to even bother deliberating.

“As soon as he said, ‘I am going to grant the defendant’s motion for acquittal,’ oh, I was in shock,” he said.

He said he wanted to hear a jury find him not guilty but their decision likely would have been criticized.

“People would have just said the jury didn’t understand this or that,” he said. “But with Judge Nail making the ruling that the evidence didn’t even meet the little, bitty bump they had to get over to even get it to a jury, to me speaks louder, at least in a legal sense. It was a powerful statement.”

Before being extradited to the United States, he served 18 months in prison in Australia after pleading guilty to a manslaughter charge in his wife’s death but that charge involved negligence, not intentional killing as Alabama authorities later alleged.

In the February trial, Alabama prosecutors accused him of killing her during a dive by turning off her air supply and restraining her until she lost consciousness in order to collect on a modest life insurance policy. His attorneys argued her death was an accident.

When Gabe Watson finished his sentence in Australia in November 2010, the country deported him to the United States with an agreement from Alabama and federal prosecutors that he wouldn’t face the death penalty, a requirement under Australian extradition law.

He said his tribulations have changed him for the better.

“I don’t take anything for granted, obviously knowing that you’re not even guaranteed you’ll be here the next hour,” Watson said. “I’m a lot more emotional, though I still don’t show emotion like everyone says I should.”

The brides lined up in the blustery cold Sunday outside the Herrington Inn and Spa, waiting to sign in and get their pink bag and matching pink pashmina for Geneva’s annual Wedding Walk event.

About 200 brides, bridesmaids, mothers and friends came to visit more than a dozen of the downtown’s bridal businesses – from dress shops to jewelry stores, paper goods to photography studios.

Among them was Kristen Leprich, 25, of Naperville, with her two sisters and maid of honor.

“We booked our reception at the Herrington and that is how we found out about this,” Leprich said. “We are just getting a better idea about the vendors that we can use. We really like the idea of staying in the area and doing all of our vendors – if we can – down here.”

Leprich’s wedding is scheduled for Aug. 3, 2013.

“We are just trying to figure things out as we go along,” Leprich said.

Kelly Bemis, 25, of St. Charles, bundled in her pink pashmina and sporting the pink bag of the bride brigade, was ready to start shopping. She brought along two bridesmaids, Anna Ricker of Batavia and Sara Freedman of Aurora.

Bemis’ wedding is scheduled for July 6 this year.

“I’m here to check out the different vendors and register for prizes,” Bemis said. “Anna and Sara are helping me pick stuff out. I pretty much have everything, but I do need things like favors and bridal party gifts and look for dresses for the mothers of the bride and groom.”

Bemis went on Geneva’s Wedding Walk last year as well.

“This is a fun event,” Bemis said. “This is great. Go with the girls and go around and see everything. We’re going to hit them all so I can register for that Aruba trip. You get your vendors signed and you enter your ballot and they draw a prize.”

With her wedding scheduled for Aug. 24, 2013, Jenny Pupchik, 28, of Frankfort, brought her mom and sister along to see what all the vendors have to offer.

“We are having our reception at Riverside Receptions,” Pupchik said. “They offer two free hors d’oeuvres if you do this, [go on the walk] so I want my hors d’oeuvres.”

Once inside, the first stop is Reiley Bechtold, to get wristbands to identify brides and their guests, pink bags and pink pashminas. Sarah Mangan, 26, of Cortland is getting married Sept. 28 this year, and has most of her things.

“This is just to get extra ideas,” Mangan said of attending the Geneva Wedding Walk.

Jennie Polloway, who does sales and wedding planning for Elizabeth Wray Design, said the event highlights what local businesses have to offer brides-to-be.

“I love that we have so many fantastic wedding vendors just in Geneva,” Polloway said. “It’s a great source for our brides who can have all in one in Geneva. It’s a great event, every year it gets better and better. I love our little wedding nexus here.”

Military brides-to-be pick out special gowns.

“It’s a very emotional experience,” said Maria Rogers a fashion student at Lasell College.

It’s called, Project Dream Dress.

“I think it’s a wonderful gesture to anyone who has ever served,” said bride to be Angela Cast.

Brides Across America and Lasell college’s fashion students are giving free wedding dresses to brides to be who are either engaged to a member of the military or served themselves, like Angela Cast of Chicago, who just served 9 months in Iraq.

“It’s so surreal,” said Cast.

And hard to believe.

“I would never have imagined to have such a beautiful wedding gown ever, (Let alone for free) I know,” said Cast.

“It’s this huge thing in a person’s life, a woman’s life, and I think offering this for military brides this element which some people can’t afford, it’s a really big deal,” said Rogers.

The dresses of course are all donated, but that doesn’t mean that they are not of high quality, in fact they’re all designer dresses and the prices range from a thousand dollars to almost nine thousand dollars.

And on this day, that means everything. Students offered help with fitting and tailoring on the spot. A veil and shoes to match.

What else could a girl want?

“It’s surreal,” said Abby O’Regan of Boston.

Abby’s husband to be is in the Navy and headed for Kuwait. She is hoping he’ll love the dress.

“I can’t fully understand it yet, but it just feels amazing, it’s really exciting,” said O’Regan.

“I love it, I love it, we are very, very thankful with this,” said Yesia Hernandez of South Carolina, whose significant other is in Afghanistan.

A dress like this, well it is project dream dress.

“Thank you for thinking about the military person and also they’re serving overseas, thank you so much,” said a teary Hernandez.

One of a kind gowns, for one of a kind women.

“God bless America and God bless our soldiers,” said Hernandez.

At least 25 current and former female RCMP officers are seeking to join a possible class-action lawsuit against the force for alleged mistreatment on the job, a lawyer involved in the budding legal action says.

Lawyer Alexander Zaitzeff, of Thunder Bay, Ont., who is building the case with six other lawyers in Ontario and B.C., said he’s heard from Mounties in every province with stories to tell.

“Constant terrible bullying, a hateful work environment, a tough place to actually show up and do your job, all the way to sexual assaults,” Zaitzeff said Tuesday. “That’s the gamut.”

Vancouver lawyer David Klein said he is also hearing from potential plaintiffs and said the suit will likely be filed in B.C. early in the new year, and could ultimately seek millions of dollars in damages.

“Money isn’t going to bring back someone’s health. Money is not going to bring back a family or a broken career,” said Klein. “Money is part of it, but it certainly isn’t what the case is all about.”

Klein said the lawsuit will be filed on behalf of one or two current or former officers and then he will ask the judge to certify the suit as a class-action, allowing more people to join as plaintiffs.

Catherine Galliford credited

Former Mountie Krista Carle said she saw RCMP Cpl. Catherine Galliford tell her story on CBC News in November and was immediately inspired to tell her own story and to reach out to fellow officers online by starting a Facebook group.

“It’s almost like a group therapy with other single adult women that experienced harassment and are taking a stand against it,” she said.

Carle said she and many of her colleagues have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, some have been divorced and some can no longer work.

“I’ve had days I’ve been so depressed I just haven’t wanted to get out of bed and that’s where the Facebook site has been extremely supportive,” said Carle.

Carle told her own story to CBC News the day after Galliford’s story broke.

Former officer Heli Kijanen, of Thunder Bay, Ont., said she went for years without thinking that anyone would believe her accounts of harassment on the job, and also credits Galliford with helping her step forward.

“It was single adult women Catherine Galliford that triggered me to go forward and find someone who was going to listen to me, who knew how important it was for the public to know about the RCMP and what’s going on in this organization,” Kijanen said.

Carle said the growing number of single adult women coming forward is a sad commentary on the force.

“I think people will be really shocked and surprised that people have put up with this kind of nonsense. You don’t expect this from the RCMP. You expect better,” she said.

Although Adult Dating does charge a small monthly fee for members looking for a few extra features that really aren’t necessary, anyone can sign up and use the gross majority of Adult Dating site for no cost whatsoever.

Overview from the Adult Match Doctor Site

Adult dating mission is to provide an interactive place where people can meet, communicate their desires, get laid and maybe even fall in love, for free.”

What an Adult Dating Membership Includes

A free adult dating membership includes access to all of the forums and blogs (including the opportunity to create your own), as well as the ability to contact all members and respond to messages. There are options for users to say they are interested people looking for chat or email, discreet relationships.

The sign-up process at adult dating is somewhat lengthy (expect about 15-20 minutes to fill it out properly), with some questions not normally asked on other adult dating sites . Then you’ll be asked about what you want in a partner, with a rating system to state just how important those factors are.

Unfortunately, adult dating search system needs to be tweaked somewhat. When I asked to look at people within 50 miles of my location, most of the profiles returned were well in excess of 1,000 miles away.

Women call for sex industry crackdown.

Women’s organisations are calling for the demand for prostitution to be criminalised to better protect victims like eastern European women who have been caught up in a shocking web of sex crime in Malta.

Malta Confederation of Women’s Organisations chairman Renee Laiviera said demand for prostitution, rather than supply, was the real problem as she urged the authorities to institute legal measures against clients seeking out prostitutes.

She said Malta should emulate the direction taken by Nordic countries: “We should take the initiative and introduce such legal measures in the shortest timeframe possible.”

In Malta the law prohibits loitering and living off the earnings of prostitution, but it does not penalise demand.

Last Thursday, Raymond Mifsud was jailed for 11 years for luring women to Malta by offering them work in a restaurant. Instead, the pimp locked them inside his farmhouse and forced them to have sex with men for €35.

If they refused to work as prostitutes, he offered them a job in a strip bar or ‘sold’ them to someone else for about €1,200 to settle the debt they incurred in travelling to Malta.

The international ring was smashed after one of the girls managed to make a desperate call to her mother back in Russia in 2004. The mother contacted the police, effectively breaking the ring, which included a policeman in the immigration department who issued the visas.

Supporting criminalisation of demand for prostitution, Roberta Lepre, from Victim Support Malta, also called for better regulation of the oldest profession and brothels.

She said it was important to ensure a more proactive and preventative approach.

“This would ensure the public becomes more confident that effective action will be taken if they decide to report a suspicious situation,” she said.

Internationally, it is generally accepted that such cases are prosecuted following reports from the public, she said. However, it is estimated that only one out of every 800 cases of human trafficking results in conviction.

When asked what regulations were in place to protect women from such trafficking, a spokesman for the Justice Ministry said: “Keeping people in ‘sex slavery’ involves the commission of very serious offences and violates various laws…

“It is the duty of the police to investigate all criminal offences and, therefore, the offences mentioned fall under the general powers of investigation and prosecution of the police.”

Human rights advocacy groups said the sex slavery ring, exposed in the court case, highlighted the urgent need to reach out to women being forced into prostitution to make them aware help was available.

“Victims have no idea where to seek help and don’t know about the 179 support line. We need to advertise it as much as possible,” said Neil Falzon from human rights organisation Aditus.

Dr Falzon and Maria Pisani, director of Integra Foundation, said the court case showed the imminent need to implement the action plan on combating human trafficking launched last October. The plan includes an awareness campaign to equip victims with information. Dr Falzon said the law should be reviewed to offer more protection to victims, who were usually vulnerable foreigners.

Victims often feared speaking up for fear of being deported. The law should allow for circumstances to stop deportation if it meant throwing women back into the human trafficking ring.

Ms Pisani highlighted the importance of raising public awareness about the realities of human trafficking and targeting those who demanded prostitution to teach them what their demands actually meant.

However, Ronnie Axisa, director of Stiletto gentlemen’s club in Paceville, said police carried out inspections about four times a week and were actually disrupting business.

Police asked the dancers for their passport and working documents and questioned them about why they were there and whether they were being forced to do their job.

Mr Axisa said he employed the girls through a Russian dancer agency. He also asked them to sign a contract stating they were not forced to work there and that their job was limited to table dancing.

Questions sent to the police, asking what action was effectively being taken, remained unanswered.

Smart Russian brides know: in order to keep the man with the mind is not necessarily to sweat in the gym and dieting seeking notorious 90-60-90. Sufficiently charming smile and a few secrets to seduction technique. Knowing them, you can charm any man. 1.Eyes. in the eye In the movie, we very much like the scene in close-up, but in life use of the views not often. If you’re flirting with a person try to maintain eye contact with him no less than 7 seconds. Only then smile and looking away to the side. Such an operation can be repeated from 5 to 10 times per hour. Eyes – the main provider of information and they will not be deceived. 2.Smile – the most important thing in seduction. Psychologists say that just a smile makes a Russian brides attractive and hot girls, and a man unarmed. This is a sign of friendliness, and openness, and joy. Smile more often. Geisha, for example, smiles after every sentence the men. They smile – is a sign of respect. 3.Byt a Russian brides Alla Pugacheva, once said: I always tried to be myself, and then realized that the true self to play! Herself, but do not try on someone else’s role, it is you to anything. 4. Listen carefully to everything that says your source. Men are such creatures, they can either just to talk or just listen Germany dating. Show your man that you are completely at attention and attach importance to all of his words. 5. Light head tilt to the side – yes the same in every film show. And just try to arrange a glance over his shoulder. Turn your head, look over your shoulder and slowly move the view of the interlocutor. You can immediately see everything in his eyes. Practice before a mirror and you will succeed as it should. 6.Beauty hot women If during the conversation, you feel uncomfortable, mentally tell yourself that you are now the most beautiful. He now looks just for you? So why doubt his appeal. 7.Lips
Scarlet, moist lips are considered a symbol of sexuality, youth and children’s children. If you do not like lipstick, apply a little gloss or even honey. In conversation mouth movements pays great attention, and hence their need to emphasize. 8.Legs on foot If you’re in the shoe heels, be sure to put a leg over the other. Men this seems attractive, because they subconsciously want to see more. 9. If you stand when speaking, try to keep the distance between the feet was about 15 cm is not necessary to compress the legs, or set them too far apart. 10. Beat with a pose and gestures of his companion. This technique is often used in NLP: try to mirror the man quietly. Become a reflection of the image and likeness. Once you adjust to his position or even a breath, the man unconsciously understand that you are with him on the same wavelength.

Sex in Second Life on free dating “is a lot, but to join in the community on relevant topics is not easy. First, bring the avatar entry-level to state sexual beings – time-consuming and expensive: genitalia, clothes, a more realistic appearance of the skin in the hair, and sexual movements require additional cash investments, if you cannot make them yourself. “We need to understand how to be around to create a realistic avatar, – says Candor. – Not all users have the time, patience and talent.” And although you can buy or programmed themselves body, clothing, grooming and the know-how, you also need to find a partner. Sex-zone on free dating second Life is difficult to find without the aid of a conductor, and if you come across, and over such a zone, you can reject it as an outsider. “If you just rush to go there without rhyme or reason, it will be perceived as an insult,” – says Bratvayt. Therefore, sexual communities within Second Life are quite small. This cooperation led to the creation of the first generation of erotic online games with multiple players: Red Light Center ( “Center of the Red Light District, released in May) and Naughty America (” slutty America “, was released this summer). These games reproduce the social aspect of Second Life, allowing people to interact with each other on the internet. But, unlike Second Life, from the first moment in the center of these games appear on sex and flirting. Making them sexually oriented and programmed characters on a range of sexual activities, the creators of new games were appealing to the less technologically savvy audience. But these games go beyond the Internet sex. At Naughty America combined cyber and internet visits. Participants will be able to complete a questionnaire on which they will combine with compatible partners, and with games they will be able to do cybersex at first, and then meet in real life. The authors say that the game is designed more for those who want to learn about the network than gamers. Free dating – you welcome!

But stress, disgusting environment, non-regular sex life and much more – all this inevitably leads to extinction of that unique spark that men called women’s “highlight”, “youthful madness” … A simpler – youth. How does this keep the notorious youth? As an extension of is that mischievous gleam in his eyes and girlish enthusiasm in his voice? As the great Madame Chanel: “In thirty years the face sculpts life, but 50 – that’s what we do deserve.” And, oddly enough, but these words are essential for those seeking all his life to stay young and beautiful. What can keep beauty? Many of the answers: a healthy lifestyle. But no, there are many Russian women who seem to be and live in harmony with each other, but nevertheless they can not, and bit of that match their ideal image. Who – thinks that facial rejuvenation is the bedrock to love you? In fact, no facial rejuvenation or unsuited surgery – not able to return to the woman’s eyes that enthusiasm and ardor that she was able to ignite in a man. What remains? Only support him – youth passion! What would a Russian women to maintain her beauty, without any sophisticated means? Beauticians all over the world meet together – only the tireless care of themselves. As recognized herself Sophie Marceau (legendary French actress) – her mother, kept the youthful skin tenderness or in a difficult time finds no reason not to care for themselves. Difficult times, where money is not even enough for bread, French managed to spend … olive oil. Massage face and body with this oil was able to give tenderness and charm of the skin. A person who is required to rejuvenate without surgery, are being transformed before our eyes! Keeps many secrets from us the story! Not for nothing that names such as Russian women Cleopatra, Nefertiti – entered the everyday vocabulary of modern beauties, unsuspecting of the secret which gave us the story.

Is there anything more intimate than sex on free dating? Someone will say no, because a sexual relationship on dating – is not only fun, but trust between two people. And what about sexual fantasies? Indeed, sometimes talk about them – it’s like to undress in Red Square. Sexologists, incidentally, claim that the dream of all, and besides, doctors do not prohibit a dream. Dream – not bad for you on free dating. Remember this saying? But dream of it. You never know what’s in your boyfriend or husband is the head. Whether he thought about you and dreaming of a leggy blonde? And maybe a mulatto, or even a hot African guy? Particularly intense dream teens about sex, they can dream up for hours. They say that on average, dreams of teen sex withdrawn for 5-6 hours a day. As they mature dream displaces real sex and erotic fantasies play an hour and a half. After 25 years of fantasy becomes smaller, but they do not disappear, and sometimes just crazy. But what can I say, if you dream about sex, even retirees. Sexology even believe that the many older people have turned to the best directors of porn movies. Women’s fantasies are slightly different from men. Women – being emotional, and therefore does not come up with erotic scenes, and entire scenes. At the head of every woman lives a few erotic novels – at least that way say psychologists. In their dreams, a woman does not represent the sexual act itself, it is important not movement, it is important detail. She pays a lot of time inventing the plot, may from scratch to invent any character, and even fall in love with him. Of course, that to devote all the subtleties of these fantasies she does not want anyone. Yes, and worth it? Men are generally very curious. Of course, they are interested in dreams his lady. They are not against peace and striptease gladly listen to all your dreams. Only now, after some may take offense. Especially if you do not dream about it, but, for example, about his girlfriend on free dating or some famous personality. But do not make excuses and take refuge in silence. If you feel shy of your dreams, create something new. Tell him about them and let them implemented. If you are not prepared to talk about dreams directly, try to do it by phone. Not for nothing because men are willing to pay for telephone calls to sexual topics. Well, treat it – talk to him about everything that you like. However, there is another but – what if he tells you something that you do not like? According to statistics, men are very often change in thought. They dream about rough sex, kids introduce themselves and try on the role of a sadist. Only now implement those dreams they are not in a hurry. For some it may just be ashamed. If a man entrusted you with their love secrets, try to understand it. It’s just a fantasy. Dreaming is not harmful, doctors are not prohibited. Hence, you can not deny. And why? Dream on health.

Therefore ancestors singer’s name written on the Moldovan-Romanian fashion, ie Rotaru. “… After the war, the territory annexed to Ukraine in connection with this pope was summoned to the recruitment office and told that the Romanian name should be changed to Russian. Removed the letter” u “in the end, instead Rotaru was the Rotary.” So at the beginning of his career appeared to the public as a singer Sofia Rotaru. This lasted until about the end of 60-ies. It is said that taking the stage name and write as a singer Sofia Rotaru advised Edita Peha. Family Michael’s and Alexandra Ivanovna Rotar was large.
